Sometimes We Say No - But Share Resources

There will always be a cat in need.

As much as we would love to help them all, our mission is clear.  Reduce the number of kittens and cats that die needlessly because of feline overpopulation.

For that reason, there are certain things that we rely on other organizations as a part of our mission to help as many cats as we can.

Please understand that saying no isn't something we enjoy.  It's something that we must do so we can make a pawsitive impact for shelters and rescues in our communities - allowing them to be able to help the ones we can't.

What We Can't Do

Surrenders

We do not have capacity or resources to accept surrendered kittens or cats. When and where we can, we partner with other organizations who include this as a part of their mission.

Provide Financial Support for Owned Cat Medical Care

Our funds are dedicated to the support of community cats, spay/neuter & microchipping. We do provide medical care and/or humane euthanasia for community cats that need support. The only exceptions to this is supporting the difference for spay/neuter costs, and initial FIP diagnosis and treatment.

Feral Cat Socialization

Not all cats are suited for indoor life. For that reason, when and where it is appropriate, the goal is always to return them to THEIR home. Relocation and forcing socialization is not in the best interest of the cat, and is counterintuitive to best practices for community cat programs and locations.

Relocation

Relocating a feral or unsocial cat is rarely the answer. Not only because it's not what is best for the cat, but by removing cats from a colony location, the impact is negative. Where there was once cats, especially an established colony, and those cats are removed - more will come. The risk is that the new cats will not be spayed/neutered, and a reoccurrence of breeding, overpopulation and illness will happen. This is a risk we will avoid.
