We're ready for another round! Join us on Saturday, April 26th at Cause for Paws - Lincoln (2445 S 48th St) to microchip your cat! Our services are 100% donation based. We care about giving you hope that if your fur baby gets out, their microchip will help bring them home.
We'll also be there to scan any existing microchips and ensure that you have the right contact for updating your information (address, phone, backup contact, etc.), and if you happen to have a microchip that was a "Save This Life" microchip, we'll help you get that chip re-registered!
All cats brought in for a microchip insertion must be in a carrier. No exceptions. This is primarily for your cats safety. The last thing we want is for them to get away just as we're microchipping them! We will have a few spare carriers onsite if you need one to bring your cat(s) into the clinic. Just let one of the volunteers know.
We know that everyone cannot afford to microchip their cat. We kindly ask for a donation which allows us to purchase more microchips for other cats. If you are unable to afford to make a donation, we will also accept and we welcome any donation of non-perishable cat food. BUT...the priority is to microchip your cat. We know how important this is to you, and we will be there to give you that peace of mind.
We will be using a standard 18 gauge microchip needle for insertion. We will have a few smaller needles on hand for younger/smaller cats. Our chips were purchased from AKC Reunite.
Your microchip comes with a lifetime enrollment and benefit package. You can update your address, contact information and backup contact at any time during the life of your cat. All microchips/cats will be registered to you prior to leaving the clinic.
In alignment with Lancaster Animal Control, we will limit the number of cats per household to 5 cats. However, if you have an active multi-cat household permit, we will microchip up to 15 cats. We do require a financial donation of $50 if you bring in 10 cats or more.
We do not require proof of vaccinations. You will be required to sign a consent and waiver of liability when you arrive and before your cat receives it's microchip. If a cat does bite a volunteer, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination. Any cat bites are subject to Animal Control requirements for quarantine at the owner's expense.
Each location will have unique requirements for how we will manage "traffic" at the clinic. Be sure to follow the instructions of the volunteers. Our goal is always to ensure the safety of the cats, our volunteers and everyone else at the clinic.
